Firearm transfers require a licensed FFL dealer -- federal law requires this for the transfer of firearm ownership between individuals. Line up a local FFL dealer before you bid so the transfer goes smoothly once you win (make sure they're able to handle your item, e.g. Class 3 transfers for NFA items). Some non-firearm items -- accessories, ammunition, antiques built before 1899 -- don't require FFL transfer, though age verification may still apply. A bid placed in the final three minutes triggers bonus time, extending the auction by three minutes. This can repeat as long as bids keep coming in near the new end time, so a hotly-contested auction can run well past its original close.
