Transferable on a Form 3

Item Description

This Chester County Armory listing is for a very rare, Colt M16A1 prototype transferable machine gun. This experimental version from Colt features a burst marked fire-control group, and early example brass deflector, and a prototype A2 adjustable rear sight, all on an M16A1 marked receiver. This model was an intermediary between the A1 and A2 configurations, and created by Colt as a prototype of what would eventually become the standard M16A2. It also still contains removable markings that were utilized in-house by Colt for identification purposes, including an X marked hang tag and tape on the front of the receiver with a handwritten number of "15" on it. There is also the remnants of another identification sticker on the upper left side of the receiver, marking the upper as "187". Extremely rare to find in this configuration, this M16A1 is fully transferable and is in excellent condition.
