This Chester County Armory listing is for a rare .222rem / 5.56mm NATO packaged M16A2 machine gun. This is a rare version of a factory original Colt M16A2 transferable machine gun. It is chambered in .222rem and has a SPORTER marked receiver. This model was originally intended for export by Colt to countries that do not allow their citizens to possess firearms chambered in NATO or other generally accepted military calibers. Both barrel and receiver are stamped ".222" and this particular one is serial number 2 (222X2). This gun features a 14.5" M4 style barrel with the standard bayonet lug, F marked front sight, and removable carry handle with A2 rear sight. This machine gun appears to be in an unfired condition. The second upper included in the purchase price is an unfired Colt A2 fixed carry handle upper in 5.56mm. It features a 14.5" M4 profile barrel, a Colt full auto bolt carrier group, M4 Handguards, Colt side mounted tactical front swivel, and the Colt dark gray receiver is a factory Colt gray color match for the .222rem marked lower. This model is a fully transferable machine gun.
