The Steyr MPi 69 is a 9×19mm submachine gun developed in the late 1960s by the Austrian company Steyr to replace the aging MP40 in the Austrian Army. Adopted in 1969, the MPi 69 features a compact design with a telescoping bolt, similar to the Uzi, allowing the magazine to be housed within the pistol grip for improved balance and maneuverability. One of its distinctive features is the charging mechanism, which utilizes the front sling attachment point as the charging handle—a design choice that was later revised in the MPi 81 variant to a more conventional side-mounted charging handle.

In the United States, fully transferable Steyr MPi 69 submachine guns are exceedingly rare. These are original, factory-produced machine guns by Steyr, not conversions, making them highly sought after by collectors. Due to their scarcity and collector value, these transferable models command premium prices in the market.
