Item Description

This Chester County Armory listing is for a rare Franchi LF-57 9mm transferable sub machine gun. Created in the 1950's by Luigi Franchi (hence, the LF), this is a seldom seen submachine gun on the US market. Despite a very functional design and very few operational problems, the LF-57 never really achieved an audience outside of the Italian military. The simple, full-auto only blowback design functions extremely reliably, but with limited ergonomics and standard sub machine accuracy, it never took off with sales like the UZI or Beretta M12 of the same time period. This LF-57 was originally an Model 1962 semi-automatic imported version that was converted by to full-auto after the ATF forced Franchi into amnestry registration of the design due to the ease of conversion of the semi-automatic model. It features an 8" barrel, side folding stock, and is in excellent mechanical condition with only minor exterior handling marks consistent with a parkerized weapon of this era. This rare model is also a low serial number in #N0014. This rare sub machine gun is fully transferable on a Form 3.
