Rare Colt Armalite AR-15 Model 1 .223rem Transferable Machine Gun

This Chester County Armory listing is for a rare, early production Colt commercial version of an M16. Dually marked with both Colt and Armalite stamps, this AR-15 Model 1 in .223rem is a fully transferable machine gun. The Model 1, although designated as an Armalite Rifle, was manufactured by Colt Firearms Company. Upon production, Colt changed the original design on this model to be the first of the line to feature the rear charging handle and it also utilized an early three prong flash hider. This model features a low serial number of #002644. This model is also in the configuration that was originally demonstrated to General Curtis LeMay, leading to the storied first adoption of the M16 by the U.S. military. This machine gun is in very good overall condition and is a fully transferable machine gun.
