The John Marlin stamp means this is an older model 336 and made before Remington took over production. It is said that the JM stamped marlins are of better quality.
This Marlin is in great condition, It has little to no imperfection to the finish. The bore is rust free with no pitting. The BSA scope has clear glass with no scratches or cracks.
