This Model 1897 has not been test fired, but everything operates as it should. The wood on the forend has several splits and is fragile. The stock does not appear to have any splits or fractures just scratches and compression marks. The buttplate has a missing chunk of material. This is a takedown model that allows you to separate the barrel and magazine tube from the receiver.
