This Chester County Armory listing is for a FN Model D .30-06 Springfield Pre May Dealer Sample machine gun. The Model D is arguably the most advanced version of the Browning Automatic Rifle. It was developed by Fabrique Nationale with direct input from John Browning, himself, prior to his death. The Model D is basically an evolution of the BAR with some improvements to fix some of the shortcomings of the original design. Most noticeably it utilizes a pistol grip and a shorter, finned barrel that has the ability to be quick-changed in the field, unlike the BAR. Internally, the Model D as features a better rate-reducing design and a more simplified disassembly procedure than its predecessor. Included with purchase of this Pre May Dealer Sample machine gun are two extra barrels and four total magazines.
